H.L. Burke, Author Free Copy of Beggar Magic ~ My Site ~ New Release ~ Substack I've been reading a book about authory stuff Like maybe that sounds like a given, but I'm actually not a big non-fiction reader, and I don't read a lot of craft books. I've always just kind of done my own thing no matter what. Like if you asked me my favorite books on writing, I would not be able to think of any I've read since high school that really made an impression... and most of those were text books. But...

H.L. Burke, Author Free Copy of Beggar Magic ~ My Site ~ New Release ~ Substack The third and final (?) book in the Supervillain Legacy Project series has a cover! It's a sweet but twisty tale of teen love, figuring out who you are, and who you want to take with you as you make the leap from teen to adult. Ruby & Oliver are the most darling little idiots in this. Oliver has always had (to quote Curran) the emotional intelligence of plain toast, but Ruby, who is normally a little more...

H.L. Burke, Author Free Copy of Beggar Magic ~ My Site ~ New Release ~ Substack This is going to be a short update. I would've skipped a week, but I had some time-sensitive discounts and group promos I wanted to get out to you! Basically, I'm still getting out from under my over-doing-it workload, working on the anthology, proofreading Game, Set, Match (watch out next week for the cover reveal!), and fulfilling Kickstarter Rewards. Also, catch me in Toledo September 19-20th at the Muddy...

H.L. Burke, Author Free Copy of Beggar Magic ~ My Site ~ New Release ~ Substack I really need to pace myself better. I'm always busy. I like doing things. I like writing. I like publishing. I like working with others in group projects. That said, normally I'm decent about pacing myself and only taking on one or two major projects at a time. Lately, I have NOT been doing that. It kind of started late last year when I ... Started talking with Lucy Winton about publishing Forest Fire. Signed up...
